UFP Episode 31: Marty Peercy

Sometimes in our travels around the sun, you come across some special people. Joining Brad in the mothership for this episode of  the Unidentified Flying Podcast is the man, the myth, the legend: Marty Peercy.

Known to many for a multitude of reasons, Marty is the force behind OKC-SPAN, which in his words is an "independent journalistic endeavor" where he covers and live tweets public meetings in Oklahoma City. He is the husband of Oklahoma City's Ward 6 Councilmember JoBeth Hamon (14:00) and attends as many public meetings in Oklahoma County, not just OKC, as he can. (28:05) Doing so allows him to provide insight into local government workings that not many people have all the while adding his famous snark and opinions. (52:17) Being people oriented and experienced in helping others, he details some hurdles the people of OKC face when it comes to transit, healthcare, and experiencing homelessness (1:08:13). OKC-SPAN also has it's own podcast but did you know Marty co-hosts another podcast called On Our Campus that is looking to expose corruption and misconduct at the University of Oklahoma?
